The Thanksgiving Play
Larissa FastHorse created a hilarious satire of well-meaning “white allies” who are determined to produce a play celebrating Native American History Month — even if they have no Native Americans to consult or even act in the play. Our performance ran Sept 5-21, 2025 and was directed by Haley McKnight.
The Children
Taking inspiration from the Fukushima disaster, Lucy Kirkwood’s play humanizes the story by focusing on three people who were involved with the incident and with each other. The Children ran from Mar 28-April 15, and garnered high praise from viewers even though the second week of the run was cancelled due to illness.
Singing Into the Dark, 1933
International performer Bremner Duthie Fletcher and his one-man show about Weimar Germany thrilled Helena audiences. It was onaly a short run (Sept 19-22, 2024) but it was an amazing, moving performance that had obvious relevances today.
What Happend While Hero Was Dead
Our collaboration with Bumblebee Aerial Studio brought Meghan Brown’s riff on Much Ado About Nothing to literally new heights. Hero ran May 9-19, 2024 at the Helena Avenue Theatre. It starred April Kortz, Haley McKnight, Emma Covarrubias, Ryan Eggensperger, and Daniel Rosenburg. Ross Peter Nelson directed the actors, while Sabrina Harding choreographed aerialists Elise Landles, Molly McKinney and Rosemary Howell.
